Balloon Release for Jared and Jayne Red was Jared's favorite color and pink is the color for breast cancer awareness. As the race begins, red and pink helium balloons will be released to fill the sky as a special remembrance for Jared and Jayne.
Other Fun The Jared Coones Memorial 5K Pumpkin Run/Walk is an event for the entire family. You don't have to be a trained runner or walker to participate. Join us for all of the fun before and after the 5K.
Here are just a few of the fun things we have in store for this year's race:
- Inflatable Moonwalk and Play Structures provided by Action Inflatables
- 50-yard Tot Trot / Run for the Pumpkins
- An assortment of wonderful food and beverages
Tot Trot / Run for the Pumpkins Calling all kids! After the 5K is over bring your friends and family over to the East parking lot for the 50 yard Tot Trot / Run for the Pumpkins. This fun event, sponsored by the Campbell Family is free for all kids ages 1 to 5. It's a race where everyone is a winner because at the end of each race you will get your own pumpkin to take home with you.
Awards Awards will be presented after the race in the Black Bob Elementary School gymnasium.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers. The top male and female finishers in each of the following age groups will also receive an award: Ages 7 and under, 8-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and up.
In addition, four special awards will be presented again this year:

Runner Protection Radio headsets, roller skates, in-line skates, hand/foot cycles and dogs are not allowed on the course. First aid will be available at the school.
Baby strollers and joggers are welcome on the course for walkers only. Walkers with baby strollers will start the course after all other walkers. |
